In a recent conversation with a friend, they shared their experience using a Gen AI platform called elevenlabs.io. They used the service to clone voices of their family members and mentioned it was easy to do and extremely authentic sounding.

After playing around with the voices it led them to take an unconventional yet thoughtful precaution: establishing a unique passphrase for each family member so they could verify their identity during voice conversations.

Considering the increasing number of voice cloning scams, it's a reasonable, though somewhat out there, safety measure for families to think about adopting.
