A macOS Shortcut I Somehow Missed

A macOS Shortcut I Somehow Missed

I’ve used macOS for years and rely heavily on Command + Tab to switch between apps. But today I realized something simple that I expect will boost my window management productivity: within a single app—like Safari—you can cycle between open windows (not tabs) using:

  • Command + ` — switch to the next window
  • Command + Shift + `— switch to the previous window

It works in Safari, Finder, Notes—basically any app with more than one window open. Super handy when juggling multiple Safari windows. Just wish I’d learned it earlier.
