How to Set Up Last.fm Scrobbling with Spotify and Apple Music circa 2024
It's been over a decade since I last used Last.fm for scrobbling, but I finally decided to set it up again. While much of my media consumption is tracked and available via APIs, my music listening hasn't been—until now.

Last.fm hasn’t been maintaining all their integrations, so I had to cobble together several methods to scrobble music from all the surfaces where I listen to music.
- On iOS, I’m using Finale, an open-source app that scrobbles everything played in the Apple Music app.
- For streaming services, I connected my Spotify account to Last.fm.
- On macOS, the only app that worked with the Apple Music desktop app for me was Scrobbles.
At some point, I'll pull my scrobble data into my journal.
